Final Game of the Tribe Shootout

On Saturday, the boys soccer team played Madison Central in the final game of the Tribe Shootout.

The game started with a bang, as Madison Central capitalized off of a defensive mistake by Boyle, and took the lead 30 seconds in. The rest of the first half was very even, and neither of the teams were able to score any more. At halftime the score was 1-0, in favor of Madison Central.

The second half was more of the same, as the Rebels weren’t able to get anything going offensively. With under 10 minutes left in the game, Madison Central doubled their advantage and made it 2-0. The game ended with that score, and the Rebels dropped to 8-8 on the season.

Talking about the game, Max Kilby said, “We came out flat, and we didn’t expect the outcome of the game. But, we gave it our all and that’s all we can do. Now we have to focus our sights on the next game.”

The Rebels play again on Tuesday at Garrard County. The boys hope to improve to 9-8 on the season after that game.

Rebels Shut Down the Patriots!

On Tuesday night, girls soccer faced the Lincoln County Patriots in an entertaining soccer match at the Rebel Stadium. After 80 exciting minutes of a great game, the match concluded with a final score of 8-0.

Despite a slow start to the game, the girls were still able to open the scoring line early at about 10 minutes in, then went on to score a second. After the second goal, the Pats stepped up their defensive work and managed to keep Boyle away from the back of the net. However, five minutes before the end of the half, the Rebels struck again with a psychological goal and made it 3-0 at halftime.

After a ten-minute team talk, the second half was underway. The rebels topped it off with an 8-0 win at full time with goals from Freshman Mia Kilby (2), sophomore Addison Hazlett (1), sophomore Reagan Britt (2), junior Maggie Gnann (2), and senior Payton Bugg (1).

The girls will play Lafayette at home next Wednesday night, looking to enlarge their winning streak.

Rebels Take Down the Patriots

The Boyle County volleyball team took on an energetic Lincoln County team in Rebel Arena on Monday. Lincoln County came in with a very inspired group, and Boyle County needed to respond.

Lincoln took the first set, 25-22, after a string of great teamwork during some long points. Their fans and players were very loud, and Boyle County wasn’t able to close out that set.

However, the Rebels certainly responded well. Boyle rallied to win some incredibly close sets, 25-23, 25-22, and 25-20 to take home a gusty win. They didn’t have too much time to celebrate, though, because they knew that DCA was the next night.

Setter Emma Young added that, “we played very well tonight, and we need to bring our A-game to DCA tomorrow.” Gracee Teague and Emma Young had 24 and 22 sets, respectively. Kendra Christopher had an incredible game, with a whopping 23 kills!

Boys Soccer Pick Up District Win Against Lincoln

On Tuesday, the Boyle boys soccer team played an away game at Lincoln County. The Rebels entered with a 7-7 record and managed to improve that with a 5-1 win.

The game had a slow start, with a 1-0 halftime lead for Boyle. The Rebels scored 3 early in the second to put the game to bed.

When asked about the performance, junior defender Max Kilby said, “we didn’t play perfectly, but we still won 5-1.”

Boyle is undefeated in 12th region play and will look to keep winning with the postseason not too far out of sight.
