A big week for Rebel signings!

It’s been an outstanding year for our class of 2024 athletes. Closing the signing season this week, we had athletes from all across the board.

Camryn Thompson signed to play volleyball with Alice Lloyd College. Good luck to Thompson in her collegiate career!

Lance Slone signed to play football at the Division Three level at Oberlin College. Congratulations to Slone, we cannot wait to see all you do!

Breydon Hatter signed to play soccer at Kentucky Christian University. We have high hopes for Hatter as he heads to Grayson!

Braydon West signed to play baseball at the Division Three level at Spalding University. What an exciting accomplishment!

Congratulations to these seniors for continuing their academic and athletic careers at the higher level. The Rebels are well-represented as they move on to the next level!

Booker Signs with Union Commonwealth University

On Monday afternoon,  third baseman and designated hitter Braylon Booker signed with Union Commonwealth University to continue his baseball and academic career at the collegiate level.

Booker stated that he chose Union because, “I love the athletics. Coach Hensley, they have a great coaching staff down there… and the academic side, as well.”

With great plans for the future, Booker still keeps the present future in mind. “We wanna win that region title. Bring it home,” exclaimed Booker on his goals for his senior season.

Rollin’ through Regional Competition

We have major event updates from our Rollin’ Rebels from the past 2 weeks!

Last Wednesday, the girls as a team were crowned region champions!          After the single qualifying games they positioned themselves in second place and later defeated Corbin 3-0 in the elimination round. The third round was a breeze once again, taking Madison Southern down 3-0. Semifinals rolled around and the girls did not slow down, taking another 3-0 win against Fleming County. They concluded the tournament with a perfect run, earning a 3-0 score against Johnson Central. An exciting day for our girls. They are state-bound once again!!

Trailing along in their regional competition, our boys fought hard in their final against Jonhson Central, taking a tough defeat of 6-5. With a second-place position, our boys were regional runner-ups and will be competing in state as well.

Both boys and girls had an outstanding performance in their Region 8 Single Games.  Our qualifiers for singles state completion are: Shelbi Webb, Emma Kondik, Peyton Ramey, Nicholas Jayne and Cody Kondik.

Let’s Go rebels!

Rolling over the competition in L City

The Rollin’ Rebels participated in the Pleasure Ridge Park (PRP) Invitational on Sunday at the Dixie Bowl in Louisville. The games were set up as one single game (five bowlers for each team) per qualifying score to bracket the teams. Boyle girls placed first and got a bye in the first round.

The bracket rounds were elimination matches. Each team had to lose twice before being eliminated.  The first loss for the girls meant moving to another bracket. From that bracket, the team could work their way back up and battle the non-winner of the championship match to place 2nd overall.

Junior bowler Chloe Rush commented, “We did pretty well. Overall, we only opened a total of 10 times throughout bakers.” Bracket games were Bakers games, best 2 out of 3.

The  girls brought home second place after a long day! It was a close fight as the final games were tied, and they had to bowl a 4th game before securing runner-up.

The boys had a good day participating, but only made a little progress in the bracket. They were great, spirited supporters for the girls!

Bowling will compete again this weekend in the Patriot Tournament at 10 AM at the Bowlarama.

Both bowling teams take home the win!

On Monday night at the Bowlarama Lanes in Danville, the Rollin’ Rebels faced Burgin with exceptional results from both the boys and girls teams.

The boys bowled 2 single games followed by 2 baker games, coming in first overall.

The girls bowled 2 single games followed by 2 Baker games to obtain another overall win.

“We bowled two individual games, those went pretty well,” says bowler Hayden Wren. Wren explains that ‘baker games’ are, “where there are five people bowling in one game. One person bowls two frames, so the first person will go back in at the sixth frame, and so on.”

The Rebels play again on Saturday morning at a Burgin Invitational.
