Girls Golf Wraps Up the Season at Semi-State!

On Monday, Emery Herron and Hannah Bischoff played in the semi-state tournament in Calvert City. The girls made a great effort, but unfortunately, this was the end of the line for the girls golf team.

They competed against many girls from all over the state; Bischoff was tied for 53rd, and Herron came in 62nd.

Bischoff was proud of her and her teammates’ performance and growth throughout the season, saying, “Overall this season went well, and we all improved our scores. Some courses caused scores to go up, but some went down; it’s how you play the lie of the ball. The main lesson I learned this season is it doesn’t matter how you hit the shot but how accurate it is. Our coach was a big help, too, and we couldn’t have dropped as much without her.”

Overall, girls golf had a successful season and, hopefully, an even better one next year.

Girls Golf Final Match, with Two to Advance!

On Wednesday night, girls golf played in the region tournament at Bardstown Country Club. Unfortunately, the team finished 5th overall, which wasn’t enough to advance to the next round. However, Emery Herron and Hannah Bischoff will be moving on as individuals to the Semi-State competition! Herron shot an 85, earning her 8th place, and Bischoff was right behind her with an 88, which got her the 9th place spot.

Herron was especially pleased with her performance Wednesday, saying, “Today was very rewarding. We had two girls, including myself, qualify for the first round of state! I’m very pleased with our scores, individually and as a team. It was a long day, but we managed and pushed through.” She then appreciates her coach, Jessica Cornelius, saying, ” I couldn’t have done it without her.”

For most of the girls, the season is over, but Emery and Hannah need to begin preparation for the next round. Good luck to them as they play in Calvert City next Monday!

Girls Golf Wraps Up the Season With a Final Gain!

Last night the girls golf team pulled out a victory on their last regular season match of the year. The Rebels won with a season-low score of 199, allowing them to secure the win over Casey, Mercer, Danville, Garrard, and Burgin.

The girls dominated the leaderboard, taking the top two spots. Hannah Bischoff came in first place shooting a 42 and Addison Carr was right behind her with a 44. Rounding out the rest of the rest of the team was Emery Herron with a 54 and Ella Wheeler shooting a 59.

Hannah praises Coach Cornelius, saying, “All of us would agree that the credit for our success this year goes to our new coach”.

With regionals just around the corner, it looks like the Rebels are ready to take on competition.
