Final Game of the Tribe Shootout

On Saturday, the boys soccer team played Madison Central in the final game of the Tribe Shootout.

The game started with a bang, as Madison Central capitalized off of a defensive mistake by Boyle, and took the lead 30 seconds in. The rest of the first half was very even, and neither of the teams were able to score any more. At halftime the score was 1-0, in favor of Madison Central.

The second half was more of the same, as the Rebels weren’t able to get anything going offensively. With under 10 minutes left in the game, Madison Central doubled their advantage and made it 2-0. The game ended with that score, and the Rebels dropped to 8-8 on the season.

Talking about the game, Max Kilby said, “We came out flat, and we didn’t expect the outcome of the game. But, we gave it our all and that’s all we can do. Now we have to focus our sights on the next game.”

The Rebels play again on Tuesday at Garrard County. The boys hope to improve to 9-8 on the season after that game.
