The Marching Rebels March Their Way to 4th Place!

This past Saturday, the Marching Rebels made their way to Berea, Kentucky to compete in the Madison Southern Eagle Classic. This was their first competition with the previous weekend being a showcase. They placed first in the preliminaries and fourth out of fourteen in the finals. They scored a seventy.

The Rebels theme is based on ancient Egypt, where the Israelites are being enslaved by the Egyptians. Camilla Clay says, “It is partially a biblical story, and partially true. The overall message we’re trying to send is that the world would be a better place if we just treated everyone how they are meant to be treated. Boys Soccer 2A Run Ends

On Saturday, the boys soccer team faced DeSales in the 2A Final Four.

The match was very low-scoring, but both teams had chances in the first half. The majority went DeSales way, but due to a lack of finishing, the first half ended 0-0.

The second half however, was pure pandemonium. Both teams had multiple chances to score, but again nobody was able to beat the two goalkeepers. The defining moment of the game was when Boyle County recieved a red card, and DeSales scored on the ensuing corner kick. With only a handfull of minutes left in the game, the Rebels were unable to find an equalizer. The game ended 1-0, and DeSales was the winner.

Talking about the game, goalkeeper McClain Denny said, “It was an unfortunate loss. One we really wanted to win. But we had chances of our own so we have nobody to blame but us. Now we have to move on and focus on the rest of the season.”

The season isn’t over for the boys soccer team, and their next game is Tuesday at Lincoln County.
