On Thursday night, the girls soccer team played against Russell Independent on the road for their Elite 8 State Game. A match that will go down in school history that was full of possession, counterattacks, and magic.
After a late opener goal from the Russell side in the second half, it only took your Rebels 20 seconds to respond and tie the score at 1-1, with the first goal by sophomore, #22, Addison Hazlett. With 10 minutes to go, Boyle secured it into the back of the net with a beautiful goal, once again by Hazlett, to make it 2-1 at full time.
Historic win for the Rebels and a memorable one for Hazlett, the manufacturer of the 2 goals. However, the tournament is not over yet. The girls have an important challenge coming up against Bethlehem next Thursday afternoon for their final 4 game at Lafayette High School at 4pm.
