On Wednesday, the Boyle County girls wrestling team went down the street to dual Danville High School for the Admirals senior night.

The Rebels walked away beating Danville 45-6.  The Reb wrestlers gained a lot of points through forfeits, with six forfeits, one pin, and one major decision.

“Although most matches were forfeits, we are proud of everybody for showing up,” said freshman Teagan Hundley.

Girls Basketball Falls to the Panthers

Last Saturday, the Girls Basketball Rebels took a big loss to Knox Central at home. The final score was 59-49, Knox Central. This was a very intense game and a hard fought one as well.
The Rebels were led by Senior Peyton Bugg and 8th grader Addison Yates. Peyton Bugg is currently the lead scorer for the Rebels, scoring 168 poins this season. Yates is definitely the best 3-point shooter on the team making 31 this season so far.
The Panthers were lead by Hallie Collins and Timberly Frederick. Hallie Collins is by far the teams lead scorer. Scoring over 160 total points more than any other teammates. She averages over 21 points per game. Frederick is a very good 3-point shooter for the panthers, making 32 on the year.
This loss ended the Rebels hot streak after winning almost 6 games straight and winning the Sectional Championship. When asked the impact of this loss on their team, Senior Annabelle Tarter states, “It’s never fun to lose, but we need to learn from it and put this one behind us.”
On Tuesday, the Rebels take on East Jessamine. Hopefully the Rebels can get some momentum back as this season comes down the backstretch towards the playoffs.
