Rebel Wrestling takes down Danville

On Wednesday, December 6th, the Rebels hosted a dual for both the boys and girls wrestling teams.

The boys took on Green County and Danville while the girls took on Taylor County and Danville as well. Wrestling right beside each other, both teams won a big victory over their rival, Danville.

However, the girls had a tough loss against  Taylor County, the number one girls team.

While the girls wrestled Taylor, the boys had one more big win over Green County to add to their list of victories. Great night for the Rebels wrestling team. They will go on to compete on Saturday, December 16th. The boys will wrestle at Beech, Tennessee, and the girls will be competing at Taylor County.

Clutch Win For The Rebels

This past Saturday, the Boyle County wrestling team played in the Big Brother Duels hosted at Boyle County against 18 high schools teams throughout the state .

Jackson Burger closed the day with a clutch pin to put the wrestling team back in the running, and to leave Paul McClure with a chance to get a pin to secure a win over Oldham County. To say exciting would be an understatement for the tournament.

Paul McClure wrestles in the heavyweight class for the Boyle County wrestling team. He secured the final point to win the tournament for the Rebels.

After getting asked about, what was going through his head when it was up to him to secure the last point to win the tournament, Paul said, “I obviously knew it was possible after watching Jackson Burger get a huge  pin at 215 but I was just out there wrestling and it worked out”.

The Rebels will wrestle again in the Taylor County Clash this Saturday.

Wrestling starts the year off right!

On Saturday, the Boyle County boys wrestling team traveled to the Walton Verona Bearcat Brawl. There were lots of placements on the podium. This would be the first tournament of the year for the boys.
