The boys tennis team took a great win over Lincoln County on Monday. They played the Patriots at home and won with a final score of 4-1.
The boys started the match with singles. Mason Young started the night off by taking the first set 6-1, then winning for certain in the second set 6-0. Sean Guiney had a great win over Zane Fields, winning 6-0 6-0. Finally, Bryar Bentley wrapped up the singles match winning 6-2 6-0, sweeping the singles.
The night ended with doubles. Ethan Drake and Desmond Rapp followed up by playing a hard match but just falling short, 6-4, 6(2)-7 then losing the super tiebreak 4-10. Finally, Caleb Sutton and Jacob King finished off the night starting slow, dropping the first set 4-6. They started to pick up the pace winning the second set 6-3, and winning the overall match 10-5 in a super tiebreaker.
Sutton said, “It was a great win for us, but I wish it didn’t take us three hours.”
Their next match is Tuesday April 30 against McCreary at Southwestern.
