One last district win!

Last night, the Rebel softball team faced off against the Lincoln County Patriots at their place. This game was essential for the Rebels because a win would guarantee them the number one seed going into the district tournament and would make them 4-0 in the district. They really needed this win for good momentum. Going into the game, having won the last four out of five games, they were ready for another dub!

In the first inning, the Rebels were unable to put runs on the board, struggling to get a solid hit off of K. Shelton. However, the Rebels upheld their end by keeping the Patriots to a goose egg on the scoreboard. At the end of the first, the score was tied 0-0.

In the top of the second, the Rebels strung some hits and walks together to make the score 3-0. Then they continued to hold the Patriots to nothing.

The rest of the game was similar with both teams inching to get runs. The next inning, the Rebels grabbed another run making the score 4-0.

However, Lincoln responded and stole back one more run off of two errors in the field. At the end of the fourth, the Rebels led 4-1. This lead continued all the way throughout the rest of the game, the Rebels winning 6-2.

Freshman pitcher Abby Peavler says, “The game went well. We all worked as a team to score and get outs on the field. Everyone was a team player and helped each other out when they were getting down.”

The Rebels will play again tomorrow night at home against Taylor County at 6PM! Be there to support these hard-working ladies!
