Cheer takes on UCA Bluegrass Regional!

On Saturday, November 18, the Boyle County Cheerleading team headed to Central Bank Center in Lexington to compete in the UCA Bluegrass Regional Competition. This competition is separate from KHSAA competitions and offers cheer teams the opportunity to compete for a score high enough to get them a bid to UCA Nationals in Orlando, FL.

The team competed in the Super Varsity Game Day division with 25 people, going up against seven other schools from all over the state. The team’s routine consisted, once again, of four components: band chant, situational cheer, sideline cheer, and fight song.

The routine was very well executed, but they did receive one deduction for a minor fall from a stunt. At awards, Boyle came in last, getting seventh place. Despite this, the girls still scored high enough to earn the coveted bid to Nationals!

This is not the end of the season for the cheerleaders as they will head to State on December 8 to compete once again!
