Cameron Owens signs with the Wildcats!

This past Wednesday, Cameron Owens signed with the Kentucky Wildcats to play baseball in college. Owens has played for Boyle since he moved from Mercer County in 8th grade.

His freshman year he pitched 8 games, 19.2 innings, and averaged 0.71 ERA per game. He had a substantial batting average increase from his freshman and sophomore year to his junior year which was 0.481.

In an interview with a BRNNews reporter and baseball teammate, Colin Wise, he was spoken of highly as a leader of the team and Owens said, as far as his love for baseball goes, “I like being able to be a part of the team and helping lead it to success”.

Cameron is an all-around active participant in the school. He is also an angler on the Boyle County Bass Fishing team and he and his teammate compete at a high level.

We can’t wait to watch Owens in his career as a Wildcat!
