Dominance on Last Away Win for Girls Soccer!

On Tuesday night, our girls dominated their match against Southwestern on their last road game of the regular season.

“It was not our speed of play” were the words of reflection of senior Payton Bugg, when asked about the developing starting minutes of the game. Nevertheless, the girls woke up and managed to bury the ball 5 times into Southwestern’s net without a response.

This 5-0 win is a rather gratifying way to conclude their last regular season road game. After pointing this out to Bugg and asking for her thoughts on the matter, she calmly said, “Personally I was kind of sad last night…but walking off the field with a win was precious to me.”

A precious win as Bugg said, nothing less was expected from this amazing team. We wish our girls luck as they go into their last home match on Thursday night, against North Laurel, which will also be their Senior Night!

Rebels Have Mercy on Mercer

The game was over before we knew it! Last Thursday our Girls Soccer team took mercy upon the Titans by ending the game in the first half at our Rebel stadium.

Our girls came out with intensity and scored 3 goals in 3 minutes, setting the ball rolling for a fast-paced game. Throughout the rest of the half the girls were racking up goal after goal.

The ball hardly crossed over towards the Rebel’s half of the field, and the girls did an amazing job at keeping pressure on Mercer’s defense. With about under five minutes left in the game, Raegan Britt broke away to score the 1oth and final goal and secure the Rebels’ win. After finishing out the rest of the half, the game ended 10-0 for the Rebs!

Ellee kendrick said “we dominated as a team and put the game away in the first half, i’m very proud of my team.”

The next game is on Tuesday against Southwestern.

Girls Soccer Beats the Warhawks

The Boyle County girls soccer team had a battle on Thursday night against the Warhawks of Great Crossing at the Warhawks’ home field.

At halftime, the Rebels were down 1-0, but after the break the real game began.

It was back and forth the rest of the second half, with 20 seconds left to go in the game. Raegan Britt scored the game winning goal for our Rebels. They pulled out their last minute lead and had a final score of 5-4.

Raegan Britt said, “Even though it was an intense game and we were down 2-4 with 13 minutes left to go, we could have all just given up. But we didn’t, we persevered with great team effort and we came back with the win!”

Keep up with the girls as they continue their season on Wednesday at home against Lafayette!

Rebels Shut Down the Patriots!

On Tuesday night, girls soccer faced the Lincoln County Patriots in an entertaining soccer match at the Rebel Stadium. After 80 exciting minutes of a great game, the match concluded with a final score of 8-0.

Despite a slow start to the game, the girls were still able to open the scoring line early at about 10 minutes in, then went on to score a second. After the second goal, the Pats stepped up their defensive work and managed to keep Boyle away from the back of the net. However, five minutes before the end of the half, the Rebels struck again with a psychological goal and made it 3-0 at halftime.

After a ten-minute team talk, the second half was underway. The rebels topped it off with an 8-0 win at full time with goals from Freshman Mia Kilby (2), sophomore Addison Hazlett (1), sophomore Reagan Britt (2), junior Maggie Gnann (2), and senior Payton Bugg (1).

The girls will play Lafayette at home next Wednesday night, looking to enlarge their winning streak.
