Boyle has a big win over Garrard

On Thursday, the Boyle County softball team traveled over to Garrard County for an away game. Boyle started the game, bringing in three runs in the top of the first inning.

When it was Garrard’s turn to hit they tried to bite back and brought in a run in the bottom of the first. The Rebels continued to hold them off, scoring four more runs in the second inning while the Lions only brought in two.

But in the third inning, Garrard kept great defense against Boyle, holding Boyle back in the third inning and scoring another run for the Lions. So, in the next couple of innings, Boyle had to return the favor.

Holding Garrard back, the rebels scored one run in the top of the fourth and three more in the fifth inning. In the final inning, Garrard brought in one run while the Rebels brought in four, overall winning the game 15-5.

Junior Katherine Lemonds says, “We came out strong against a tough district opponent, the victory over Garrard County was a great confidence boost.”

The Rebels will continue strong in their next game tomorrow against Western Hills.
