Rebels win the 2A Section 5 Championship!

On Tuesday, the baseball team took on Harrison County in the 2A Section 5 Championship. Harrison County has always been a top opponent and one of the top teams in the state. The past four years, the Rebels have made it to the championship and been beaten by Harrison. This year was a different story. The Rebels won the game 6-4 in a nail biter.

Starting on the mound was senior Brayden West. Brayden has been a key player for the Rebels so far this year. He pitched four innings, then was relieved by Landon Parnass. As a team, the Rebels had ten hits and six RBIs.

Senior Cameron Owens, after playing in the championship 4 years in a row and finally winning, said, “Every year we are so close to going to Owensboro but we always came up short. To finally overcome that challenge in my senior year is so exciting.”

The Rebels will play Anderson County tomorrow, and when they get back from spring break, will be taking a trip to Owensboro for the 2A State Tournament.
