Rebels advance to the 45th District Championship Game

The Boyle County Rebels headed to Garrard Middle to take on the Lincoln County Patriots in a win-or-go-home scenario! The winner would play again on Friday, against DCA.

The Rebels started off hot, taking a 15-6 lead early in the first. Lincoln went on a small run, and Boyle lead 19-13 at the end of the first.

The second quarter was incredibly low scoring. Demauriah Brown hit his first four threes, with three in the first half. Montavin Quisenberry added 13 points, displaying some incredible athleticism. Blade Nuckols led Lincoln in scoring with eight points.

The Rebels played a great third quarter, with Demauriah Brown hitting his fourth straight three. The Rebels played stifling defense, forcing five turnovers in eight minutes. At one point, the Rebels led by 15!

Seneca Driver hit a tough post fade-away to get the last quarter started, and Guy Turner hit a HUGE three to get himself going for the first time in this game. This shot led to a huge confidence boost for him. Both teams went back and forth for the rest of the game, and the Rebels kept hitting free throws, with clutch shots from Avery Bodner, Turner, and Quisenberry.

The Rebels took it home, and won 60-46! They end Lincoln County’s season, and advance to take on DCA on Friday Night!

Demauriah Brown led the Rebels in scoring, with 20 points on 8/15 shooting. Quisenberry added 17 points, four rebounds, and five assists. Guy Turner added 10, shooting 5/6 from the line. Seneca Driver was a force in the paint, adding nine points and seven rebounds.

For the Patriots, Blade Nuckols had 28 points on 9/17 shooting. Cash Baird added eight, while the Horton Twins added seven points combined. Baird shot 3/12, and Quisenberry played some incredible defense on him.

The Rebels have a chance to win the 45th District Championship on Friday Night against DCA!
