Academic team take region champ for first time in history!

On February 12th and 17th, the Boyle County academic team competed in the regional tournament. The tournament was held at Casey County High School, and consisted of many teams across the area.

The overall team performed extremely well, winning the tournament for the first time since 2014. Also, the quick recall got its first region championship in history! The Future Problem Solving team wielded another group of champs, placing first in the whole region!

The following students placed in Written Assessment:

Desmond Rapp – fifth in Math

Micah Brown – second in Math

Ellis Croshaw – third in Science

Jacob Kirchner – fourth in Language Arts, fifth in Arts and Humanities

Daniel Leber – third in Arts and Humanities

Emma Taylor – fifth in Composition

Head coach Eli Edwards said, “I am so incredibly proud of how these students performed this past weekend at Regionals. In quick recall, every single participant scored a point for our team. They have spent countless hours studying thousands of years of literature, history, humanities, mathematics, and science, and through their hard work, they earned these wins and a spot at the state tournament.”

The state tournament will be held in March, where the Quick Recall, FPS, and a few testers will be competing.
