The last fight of Postseason

The volleyball team really showed out in their pink last night. The Rebels played the Marion County Knights on Thursday at home for their senior night.

The night started off great with senior night festivities and prayer led by senior Camryn Thompson to recognize and remember people who have lived with breast cancer or passed away from it. The game had a special start, highlighting our 5 seniors: Raina Blevins, Zuri Mitchell, Chantel Osterloh, Camryn Thompson, and Emma Young.

The game was neck and neck in every set. The first set was back and forth with some tough rallies. Marion County came into this game with an advantage. They had huge success in previous seasons and came into this game having beat the Rebels once prior this season.

The Rebels, unfortunately, weren’t able to pull out the first or second set. They were losing 2-0 and had to win the 3rd set to keep playing and put them back in the game. Just as expected, that is exactly what they did. The Rebels fought hard to take the third set and sent the game into the 4th set.

The game was neck and neck the whole 4th set. The Rebels fought hard but weren’t able to take the 4th. They ended up losing the game 3-1.

However, Coach Eric Kenoyer says, “I love my team and I am just so happy we get to celebrate them. I have coached them since 6th grade so this was a pretty emotional night for me.”

This game was the last regular season game of the year. Good luck to these ladies in postseason!
