Rebels show out at invitational meet!!

This past Wednesday, the Rebels swim team took on the Rock the Blocks Invitational Meet at the University of Louisville!

Overall, it was a very successful meet with many people shaving off times and even breaking some records!!

For example,
Brooklyn Cash dropped 2.23 in 50 free
Spencer Costello dropped 1.64 in 50 free
Luke Cabral dropped 1.08 in 50 free
McKenna Sallee dropped 6.98 in 50 breast
Chandler Durham dropped 1.17 in 50 breast
Braylon Tudor dropped 9.48 in 50 breast
Blake McCowan dropped 2.92 in 50 breast
Julian Ortiz dropped 2.28 in 50 breast
Maggie Gnann dropped 1.57 in 100IM
Braylon Tudor dropped 9.81 in 50 back
Julian Ortiz dropped 9.27 in 50 back
Lydia Williamson dropped 1.08 in 50 fly
and Andrew Lockhart dropped 1.11 in 50 fly

Along with these amazing times, we had Clark Coyle beat two meet records, including the 50 back which he dropped 5.79 off, and the 50 fly which he dropped .53 off, which was a record previously held by his brother and former Rebel, Campbell Coyle!!

The Rebels swim team will be back competing at Centre College for their senior night on January 30th.

Rebels dive into victory at Centre College!

This past Sunday, the dive team competed at Centre College. Overall it was an outstanding performance for the team!!

For the boys 11 meter dive, Andrew Lockhart and Jackson Thornberry secured the top spots to come in first and second place, respectively!

For the girls 11 meter dive, Matti Carlsen beat out all of the other competitors, taking first place. For the girls six meter dive, Jolie Cochran came in second and Stella Feistritzer came in fourth place!

The dive team will compete again January 30th at the Boyle County Swim & Dive senior night held at Centre College!!

Boys dive into first at Centre!

On Saturday, the Boyle County dive team competed in a meet at Centre College hosted by Danville High School. 

Andrew Lockhart took 1st place in the boys competition, followed up by Gabe Hamon in 2nd, to help the boys secure the overall win.

The girls weren’t quite able to win despite a good performance that included high placements from Jolie Cochran and Matti Carlsen. 

The dive team will look to keep going strong for the remainder of the season after a great start! The next dive meet will be when the team returns from break, bringing it back on January 10 at Russell County.
