Girls Golf Wraps Up the Season With a Final Gain!

Last night the girls golf team pulled out a victory on their last regular season match of the year. The Rebels won with a season-low score of 199, allowing them to secure the win over Casey, Mercer, Danville, Garrard, and Burgin.

The girls dominated the leaderboard, taking the top two spots. Hannah Bischoff came in first place shooting a 42 and Addison Carr was right behind her with a 44. Rounding out the rest of the rest of the team was Emery Herron with a 54 and Ella Wheeler shooting a 59.

Hannah praises Coach Cornelius, saying, “All of us would agree that the credit for our success this year goes to our new coach”.

With regionals just around the corner, it looks like the Rebels are ready to take on competition.

Boys Golf Brings Home the Victory from Garrard County

On Tuesday, the boys golf team traveled to Garrard County in a tri-match against East Jessamine and Garrard County.

They shot a 170 in their match. Landon Parness shot a 41, Eli Langham shot a 42, Colton Aulick shot a 44, Harper Webb shot a 44, and Gavin Lamb shot a 44.

When asked about how he prepared for yesterday’s match on a difficult course, Parness says, “I played in the week before and worked on the shots that I was struggling with. I was also mentally prepared. On the bus I focused up.” Low scores and excellent preparation led to a victory for the boys, going out on a win for their last regular season match!

Good luck to the boys as they travel to Woodford County on Saturday to play in conference!

Tough Loss to the Yellow Jackets

On Tuesday, the Boyle County Rebels had a match against the Woodford County Yellow Jackets in a tough match at Danville Country Club.

The boys shot a season high of 181. Eli Langham shot a 45, Collier Sexton shot a 46, Harper Webb shot a 44, Colton Aulick shot a 48, and Landon Parness shot a 46. The boys are upset by the loss, but hoping to make a comeback next week.

After being asked what possibilities there may be for improvement, Harper Webb suggests, “Working inside 100 yards as a team and slowing our minds down after bad shots and in between shots” are what the team will be focusing on as they move forward!

The boys will go up against East Jessamine and Garrard County at Peninsula Golf Course next Tuesday.
