Rebels Baseball beats Bourbon in 2A!!

On Monday night, Boyle played in the semi-finals of the 2A Section 5 Tournament, facing up against Bourbon County at Western Hills!

The Rebels won the game 5-4 in an intense matchup, keeping the impressive undefeated record alive and going to 7-0 on the season!!

Logan Marsee was the starting pitcher, only allowing one run and three hits through five innings, while also recording five strikeouts. Kyler Claunch closed out the pitching for the night securing the win and recording one strikeout!

Boyle County started out hot bringing in three runs in the first inning, then scoring two runs in the fourth as well, with Cameron Owens scoring two runs, Kyler Claunch scoring two runs, and Brayden West scoring one run.

The Rebels will be in the 2A State Section 5 Championship playing against Harrison County tonight at Western Hills!

Rebels rout East Jessamine in thriller!!

This past Thursday, Boyle County traveled to East Jessamine for a big region match up!

The East Jessamine Jaguars started the game off hot, bringing in five runs in the first two innings taking a big lead. By the fifth inning, East Jessamine had a commanding 8-3 lead.

The Rebels then pulled off an incredible comeback, scoring 10 runs in the final two innings to East Jessamine’s four, winning the game 13-12!

Josh Cool opened the pitching for four innings, recording three strikeouts before being relieved by Logan Perry who also recorded three strikeouts, and the game was closed out by Landon Parnass to secure the win.

The Rebels had an incredible offensive performance, recording 14 hits on the night. Kyler Claunch had three hits and brought in two runs, Alex Smith had three hits and brought in a run, and Sage Dawson had two hits, bringing in 2 runs.

The Rebels will play again on Friday at Rockcastle County, hoping to keep the undefeated streak alive!

Rebels Rock the Rockets

Last Friday, the Rebels took on Rockastle County on the road. This was a region game, which means it was a must win for Boyle. The final score was 4-2, Rebels!

For Boyle, Junior Landon Parnass started on the bump. He threw 6 innings, had 7 strikeouts and only gave up 1 earned run. The game was closed by Senior Logan Marsee. Logan pitched one inning and had 2 strikeouts.  Senior Cameron Owens, went 2/4 at the plate, with 3 RBIs.

When asked how he clams his nerves while on the mound, Landon Parnass said, “I try not worry about the batter, I just throw the ball where it’s called and trust my defense to back me up.”

The Rebels are now 6-0. The Rebels will take on Bourbon County in the second round of the 2A Secion 5 tournament.

Rebels Overcome the Briar Jumpers

Last Wednesday, the Rebels took on top team in the state Somerset. It was a very hard fought game, both teams playing their best on the bump. The final score was 2-1, Rebels!

For Boyle, Brayden West started the game. He through 5 innings, had 3 strikeouts and only gave up 1 earned run, The game was closed by freshman Kyler Claunch. Kyler pitched two innings and had 3 strikeouts as well. Senior Cameron Owens, went 3/3 at the plate, with 2 RBIs.

When asked what it takes to win a big game like that, Senior Brayson Claunch said, “While it takes some skill to win, it comes mostly from the heart. The team that has put in the most work and wants it the most, is gonna take the dub.”

The Rebels are now 4-0. The Rebels will take on East Jessamine on Thursday. Hopefully they can keep their streak going.

Rebels run past Southwestern!!

This past Tuesday, the Rebels matched up against Southwestern. The baseball team came out with an impressive 15-2 win in just five innings!!

Throughout these five innings, the Rebels had 14 hits! Some extraordinary performances include Alex Smith who had two hits, a double, two runs and four RBI’s in just two at bats, and Avery Bodner who had one hit, one base on balls, two Runs, and three RBI’s on the night!! Very impressive performance from the Rebels, extending their perfect record to 3-0!!

Alex Smith, who had an outstanding performance Tuesday, says “We were able to jump on them early and score seven runs in the first. We kept adding on each inning and played solid defense.”

The Rebels will play again away against Somerset on Wednesday, playing the top team in the region who is also 3-0 on the season!!
