Smash and Rocket League seasons come to a close

The first week of eSports state kicked off last week with Smash up against Montgomery County and Rocket League facing off with Greenwood.

Smash unfortunately suffered a 3-0 loss to Montgomery County in the opener, ending their season.

Later Rocket League also fell in a 3-0 loss to Greenwood. Smash player Alex

Toth said, “It was an unfortunate end but I think we had a good season with some good wins.”

Congratulations to both teams for qualifying for state, and congratulations again to both teams on their stellar season.

Esports takes home wins in Mario Kart and League of Legends!

Esports started their week by taking home a 2-0 win in League of Legends.

Aaron Gorley was interviewed about the victory in which he said, “It was thanks to my teammates.” In particular he named Bryson Long and Cole Carrier.

Epsorts then had a tough 3-0 loss to Trinity. They played hard but couldn’t pull through.

But then in their third game, they pulled it back with a 2-0 win in Mario Kart.

As the end of the Esports regular season soon approaches, the team looks to finish strong in these next coming weeks.

Back to back wins for Smash Bros.!

On Tuesday, E-sports kicked off their week with two games of Smash Bros. Smash won a relatively close 3-1 win over Holmes High School, and a clear 3-0 win over Covington Latin.

On Wednesday, Rocket League also hopped on the victory bus with a great win over Franklin County.

Finally, to cap it off, Mario Kart won in a competitive game against Central Hardin 2-0. Smash Bros. player Alex Toth spoke confidently on the double header, saying, “The first game was definitely tougher but our fundamentals were key in that victory to carry us into a comfortable second win in the second match.”

The E-sports team looks to continue their big winning streak next week as the November games arrive and postseason approaches.

Esports Conquers the Competition for Four Matches in a Row!!

Esports had an incredible set of matches this week and took home some big wins against really good teams. Esports kicked off their week with a huge 2-0 win over Louisville Male at League of Legends.

League of Legends player Aaron Gorley was very complimentary of his teammate saying that, “Garrett showed a lot of improvement over the past couple weeks and our dynamic as a team really helped us get the win this Monday.”

Next, the Smash Bros. team kept the same competitive grit on Tuesday with a 3-1 win against Russell High School.

Finally, The Rocket League team had dominated with a 3-0 win over Bardstown.

And last but not least, the Mario Kart team owned the track with a 2-0 win over Clay County.

The esports teams look to have a similar outcome in the coming weeks to make a name for themselves come postseason.

E-sports Smashes Competition in Smash Bros. and Rocket League for their First Week!

Last week, E-sports started off their first match of 3 against Whitley County playing League of Legends. This match ended with a tough 2-0 loss. Not taking that loss lightly over the next two matches they picked up a 2-0 win at Smash Bros. against Lakeview and a 3-0 win at Rocket League.

Junior Smash Bros. E-sports player Alex Toth said, “The first match we were really on top of the game.” Further, “The second we had a couple shaky moments but overall we continued to play well.”

E-sports looks to find similar results like these in the next coming weeks and their upcoming matches against Dupont Manual and Butler Traditional.
