Girls Tennis starts the year off strong

Thursday night, the girls tennis team took on the Burgin girls, resulting in a clean sweep. B

oth singles and doubles won each match, going 9-0 on the night. The singles playing were Emma Taylor, Matti Carlsen, Emery Herron, Alia Lamar, Adeline Germann, Brynn Bentley, Lauren Burdine, and Natalie Spencer.

The doubles playing were Emery Herron and Kate Hoffman, Adeline Germann and Alia Lamar, Katy McSweyn and Zuri Mitchell, Natalie Spencer and Maggie Gnann, and Brynn Bentley and Lauren Burdine.

The girls will play again next Monday, taking on the East Jessamine Jaguars.

DECA takes on Region 4!

This Thursday, DECA competed in the Region 4 Career Development Conference, and most competitors advanced to state. The following are the results of the competition:

The members are now preparing for the Student Leadership Conference/ State HOSA Conference in March, where they will compete in various different competitions!

Max German receives the DAR Good Citizens Award!

Recently, Max German was presented with the DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest. This award encourages and rewards the qualities of good citizenship. It is given to high school seniors who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities.

Max German was chosen among many to receive this honor due to the qualities he displays daily. He is ecstatic about the award, saying, ” I feel so honored to receive this award. I appreciate everyone who thought I was worthy of this great accomplishment.”

Boyle County is proud to have Max as a student here, and we all know that he is going on to do great things!

Quick Recall takes home the win at the JV Challenge!

Monday night, the JV Challenge 1 occurred at home. During this event, written composition took place, and Luisa Sanchez-Almenarez secured first place.

The JV Challenge 2 at Madison Central consisted of Content Assessment and Quick Recall. This Saturday, the Quick Recall team defeated Madison Southern in the championship 29-3.

Some individuals scored well on their Content Assessments. Desmond Rapp earned 1st place, and Logan Ball earned 3rd place in math.

In science, Jada Maples was the runner-up, and Rudra Patel came in 6th place. In social studies, Ellis Croshaw came in 3rd, and Desmond Rapp in 5th. In language arts, Jacob Kirchner was the overall champion, and Kathryn Lewis came in 5th place.

In arts & humanities, Jacob Kirchner came in 1st, Kathryn Lewis in 2nd, and Jada Maples in 3rd.

The Rebels were the overall champions of the JV Challenge, earning 73.5 points, defeating Madison Southern, Jackson County, Madison Central, Garrard County, and Berea. The academic team will compete again today in the Lake Cumberland Tournament.
