Huge 24-12 victory for the Rebels!

Last night, the Rebel softball team traveled to Marion County to take on the Lady Knights. They were hyped up and ready to play after their big win over DCA on Monday.

The first inning started out BIG! The Rebels hopped on their pitcher quick, getting their timing down and finding ways to barrel up the ball. After stringing hits together and taking advantage of the walks and errors in the field, the Rebels ended the top of the first inning up 11-0.

In the field, two errors cost the Rebels four runs. At the end of the first, Boyle leads 11-4.

The second and third inning consisted of inching back on both teams. The Rebels scored five and the Knights scored one, making the score 16-5 at the end of the third. The fourth ended very similarly and the Rebels were set up to end the game in five innings. However, in the bottom of the fifth, the Rebels let up five runs on a few errors to keep the Knights in the game. This caused the game to go a full seven innings, lasting three and a half hours long. At the end of seven, the score was 24-12.

Overall, the Rebels had a great night at the plate with 19 hits, 21 RBI’s, and 24 runs scored. To top it all off, Addie Cannon and Cambry Cheek went yard to make the game even more exciting.

Senior Cambry Cheek says, “Yesterday we came out with our heads in the right place. We came out ready to play and that’s exactly what we did. Our hitting was on point last night which made up for some errors made in the field. Overall, I am very proud of how we played and I’m ready to come out and play again tonight!”

The Rebels play again tonight in a huge district matchup against Garrard County at their place. Be there to support these ladies!
