Last week on Friday afternoon, senior running back and defensive back Avery Bodner signed to Thomas More University to continue his football career at the collegiate level.
Bodner has played football since his elementary school days at Perryville, and it is a very exciting experience for the coaches that have watched him play for many years to see him secure his future in football at the next level.
Coach Travis Leffew who has followed Bodner for much of his Boyle County football career says that Bodner is “one of the best to ever play the game of football here.”
To celebrate the milestone, Avery was surrounded by family, friends, and teammates as he signed his commitment to the team for the next four years. Not only did Bodner get to celebrate his signing surrounded by support, but that Friday, March 22nd, also marked Bodner’s 19th birthday. A great start to a great year for the Rebels football star!
Bodner closed out his signing with a goodbye to the Rebels football team saying, “This place will always be my home no matter where I go and I appreciate every single one of you.”
