The Community Problem Solving team is the state champion!

On the weekend of March 9th, the Boyle County academic team competed at the state competition held at the Galt House.

For the quick recall team to advance to the finals on Sunday, they would have had to finish in the top 16 of 32 in pool play. After dropping the first two games against Calloway County and Henderson County, Boyle bounced back with a big win against Marion County. In the fourth round of pool play, Boyle defeated Logan County by a score of 30-11. Round five was a must win game, but unfortunately the Rebels dropped a close match against North Laurel. This ended the quick recall team’s legendary season, as they placed 20th out of 32, just missing the top-16 cutoff.

Next, the Future Problem Solving team came up big in the state competition, finishing sixth out of everyone in the entire state.

The big winner of the weekend was the Community Problem Solving team, who consisted of Maggie Gnann, Emma Taylor, Campbell Johnson, Chloe Darnell, Mason Lee, Luisa Sanchez, and Katie Qualls. They ended up as state champions, placing first out of the whole state of Kentucky!!

In the individual content assessment, Boyle had junior Micah Brown place in the top-10 of the state in mathematics! Brown was the first ever Boyle participant to place in the mathematics competition at the state level.

Overall, Boyle had a great weekend in Louisville, wrapping up an incredible season. This year will go down in history, and this team will always be remembered as region champions.
