One last serve for the 2023 season

The Rebel volleyball team faced off against Somerset Christian Wednesday night in the Region Semi-final. The Lady Cougars had the home court advantage and were ready to get their second win. However, the Rebels wanted the win just as much.

The first set didn’t go in the Rebels’ favor when they fell short 25-16. The Rebels fought hard against the Cougars but were struggling to find their way around #9, Addison Cunnagin. Cunnagin is the number 2 ranked hitter in the state and really proved her spot at last night’s game.

The Cougars also had a really powerful sophomore server, Sophia Barnett. Her serve soared over the net just to take a steep fall in the middle of the court. The Rebels didn’t let up though, trailing 25-20. The Rebels kept their heads up and maintained a close score the whole game.

The Somerset Christian Cougars had lots of fans and made their presence known. The Rebels just couldn’t seem to hold on and lost the third set 25-22. This was the end of the road for the volleyball team’s 2023 season. They fought hard and made their season great. Though the outcome wasn’t what they were shooting for, they showed their perseverance.
